Flowers for Those You Love February 24, 2010

The tradition of giving flowers has been around forever, literaly. Symbolic use of flowers can be seen in Roman mythology, ancient Chinese writings and even Egyptian heiroglyphs. The custom exploded in the middle ages as part of the courtship process and continues until this day. Today, we send flowers for all occasions and have many options from where to get them. Some of the best places online are 1800Flowers and Fleurop.

What should you send? Here’s a quick quide:

St. Valentines Day - Roses, Roses and more Roses! Nothing else needs to be said except mabye Red.

Birthday - Anything Bright and cheerful. The favorite flower of the recipient is always a good choice.

Anniversary - Most anything goes here. Try and match the “personality” of the couple to the flowers. A surprise would be great.

If flowers don’t fit the personality of the recipient, you can always send some goodies from Gourmet Gift Baksets. In the end, it doesn’t matter what you send, all you need to do is to let the other person know that you are there for them and are thinking about them.
